A Day off

  • Rose Thun

Continuing yesterday’s theme of delightful things, as if we didn’t have a full to do list and responsibilities,… on Sunday my husband and I went to the National Arboretum and walked about for hours.

We meandered through the azaleas and rhododendron, past the columns removed from the US Capitol in the 1950s, through the bonsai house, past the Chinese scholar’s room, and onto the plant sale where we bought the weirdo herbs that are hard to get and planted them in pots on the deck. Then I made keto chocolate cake and we ate dinner outside.

It was so much fun, we decided we should spend at least one day per week not on the computer. Yes, I know sabbaths and shabbats and such have existed for millennia. Some of us just realized the value a little later than others.

Hope you can squeeze in a day off too.

Best wishes,

Rose
