Music & Exploration

Hello!

There’s a wonderful song by Karminsky Experience called Exploration that I love and first heard on WPFW in Washington DC years ago. I am just listening to the band on YouTube working today. The song came up in a wonderful Seven Beats Music Playlist but the original video is wonderfully spacey to watch.   

I can’t find the lyrics but the refrain is “Exploration. Exploration. What the sky looks like. What the stars look like…..” And that could a theme song for Choose MY Happy Place as I sway along typing on my laptop as it plays. 

I’ve written about why independent and public radio stations are a public health issue as much as an entertainment gem and for both reasons are part of the Selection Tool. I think of them also as a proxy for the local music scene. 

Of course, there is live music everywhere, but the places with a vibrant music scene almost always have independent and public radio and are something to think about as you choose where to move.
