In the About Section, I wrote about my amusement when a friend lamented the lack of Trader Joes after retiring. That led to the Shopping Section of the Selection Tool. For me, it’s Ethiopian food.
My first date with my husband was at an Ethiopian restaurant half way between our houses. “Do you ever want to get married?” asked my mother. Luckily, he loved it, or we wouldn’t have had a 2nd date.
I had lived in the U Street/Adams Morgan neighborhood of DC for many years. It was closer and easier to get Ethiopian food (both restaurant and grocery stores) than a more typical choice. It turned out to be a wonderful thing. An Ethiopian vegetarian sampler is divine. Besides swooning over the lentils, the music will transport you. I became a regular. (Here is a sneak peak of the local music, https://dcist.com/story/19/12/13/ethiopian-jazz-supergroup-feedel-band-is-keeping-traditional-sounds-alive-in-the-district/)
You may wonder why I don’t include ethnic food in these tools and reports. Great question and a high priority criterion for me too. The simple answer is that Yelp, Google, Trip Advisor, etc. have beat me to the punch and can give much better, more current profiles. It’s one of the things I suggest investigating in the Criteria Report, to find what is important to you.
We each grow fond of funny things that make us happy and connected.
I built the Selection Tool so you can find what suits you with up to 120 criteria to choose, so it’s a great start to get you to your happy place sooner.
