The Black Lives Matter movement is inspiring and I am hopeful for the progress it brings. DC Mayor Bowser’s 16th Street art work took my breath away in its genius.
As I look at the data, I believe the average income (from the US Census) by race and gender are proxies for bias and I am sharing the data here across all 382 places in the hopes it is helpful to you in deciding where to move next. You can download the report for free.
Bias is everywhere, but there are hot spots you can avoid. I have only experienced gender bias, but enough of it to empathize for the larger trends. I was stunned to see how much worse racial bias is. There is ageism, sexism and racial bias so extreme that minorities only make 18% of local median incomes.
