Fishbone Diagrams
- Rose Thun
Happy Spring!
We had a fantastic Mini Bootcamp on Saturday!
I love that half the people who came were part of earlier challenges and workshops. I hope you can join the next one!
We all built a short list of criteria of what we are looking for, and had some surprises along the way. We explored over 25 thinking and mindset frameworks and tools.
One of the tools we used was the Ishikawa/Fishbone Diagrams These diagrams are used for identifying root causes, asking 5 Whys along each branch to build a list of everything that can lead to an outcome. (either good or bad outcome). For example: What can stop you from making your move or what could make your new hometown not ideal? It helps to frame and focus your thinking. I also find it really useful for depersonalizing challenging conversations within families by shifting at the details around what can contribute to a successful or unsuccessful move, rather than on disagreement. It can then be used to plan how best to move forward. Here is a sample start of a Fishbone Diagram to get you thinking.
Best wishes,
Rose Thun
